Our hypocritical nature

Matthew 7:1-5 Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you alook at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. We are all guilty. When we notice a weakness in someone it is human nature to feel elevated or superior, because we may think we are free from their handicap or shortcoming. We may be. If so it is only by the grace of God. Or maybe we are blinded by the log in our own eye. If this is the case then we must take heed to Jesus' warning in these scriptures. Matthew 7:1-5 Maybe we have the same weakness but in different areas. Maybe we only notice it in others because it is in us... Maybe we notice so we know how to pray for the person. Maybe we are more guilty than the one we see it in. Only God knows fully. Either way noticing is not in vain, there can be redemptive purpose. Ask God to show you how to handle it. Pray for the person and yourself. Think about it ---- If it were not for the Grace of God you could have been............ You fill in the blank.
